These are the questions we hear most from lenders, brokers, vendors and credit teams about UCC data: how often it refreshes, where it comes from, what a filing can and cannot tell you, and how to get it.

How often is the data refreshed?

Colorado, Connecticut, DC, Florida, Idaho, Kentucky, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Wisconsin are collected every business day. Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi are collected several times a week. Every other state is collected on a rolling, typically weekly schedule, with extra runs when a state needs catching up. We do not claim real-time coverage.

How fresh is UCC data?

How long until a new filing shows up?

We measure it rather than promise it. For filings dated July 1 – September 15, 2026, the median was 3 days from filing date to our database in daily states and 5 days in weekly states. 93% of daily-state filings arrived within a week, against 81% for weekly states. Part of the delay is the state's own publishing schedule.

Which states do you cover?

UCCContacts covers 32 states plus Washington, DC. Some states are under development and some are planned. The coverage map in this issue shows each state and how often it is refreshed.

About UCCContacts

Where does the data come from?

From UCC-1 filings, which are public records held by state filing offices. We collect them on a schedule, remove duplicates, standardize business and lender names, classify each lender, and, where possible, match filings to public business records.

What does a UCC filing show, and what does it not?

It shows that a lender claimed an interest in a business's assets, along with the parties, the filing date and a lapse date. It does not show the loan amount, whether the loan is current or in default, or whether the business needs help.

How do I get the data, and how soon after it loads?

By API in CSV or JSON, which covers all available current and historical data, or delivered into your Google Sheet, which covers the current calendar month. New records are available by API right after they load, and Google Sheets customers receive them within 15 minutes. That 15-minute check moves records we already have; it does not make a state publish sooner.

Do you sell MCA debt-relief lead lists?

No. We do not sell UCC data as MCA debt-relief lead lists, and we do not market it or build products for that purpose. Filings are public records that anyone can search, so this describes what we build and promote.

Can the numbers in this magazine be read as market share?

No. They count filings captured in our network, not loan dollars or each lender's total business. States are added on their own schedules, so a state with fewer filings may simply be covered later or less deeply.

Can I get a custom report?

Yes. We build custom lender profiles, competitor activity reports, state and regional market reports and equipment-finance opportunity reports. Ask for a sample dataset or a custom analysis at yaneto.com/contact.
